Maggio, PhD, Mark J.

Mark J. Maggio, PhD serves as the assistant clinical director for two Critical Incident Stress Management Teams (CISM) in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and was formerly the clinical director for a national CISM team serving the air medical rescue and airborne law enforcement industries. He is also a contract psychologist for the crisis response team for Dulles & Reagan National Airports. Mark works full-time for the federal courts in Washington, DC and has been an adjunct associate professor in behavioral sciences for the University of Maryland/University College as well as a consultant to the World Bank in Washington, DC. He has trained both nationally and internationally for ICISF and is an approved instructor for the Group Crisis Intervention, Advanced Group Crisis Intervention, Assisting the Individual in Crisis, Suicide & CISM, and Strategic Response to Crises courses. Mark has been a primary or co-author for a variety of articles on crisis intervention, CISM, workplace violence, domestic violence, resiliency in the aftermath of trauma and suicide. He holds a masters degree in clinical psychology from Loyola College in Baltimore, a PhD in human development from the University of Maryland in College Park and is a diplomate with the American Association of Experts in Traumatic Stress.
