Rachel E. Kaul, LCSW, CTS is Coordinator of Disaster & Emergency Services for the State of Maryland’s Mental Hygiene Administration and Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration. Rachel also serves as a consultant to the Pentagon Employee Referral Service, the Employee Assistance Program for civilians in and attached to the Pentagon, in matters related to crisis response. Rachel is on faculty with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation and serves on the Board of Directors. She has gained experience working as a clinician and educator in many different environments. Rachel has been the Disaster Mental Health Services Chairperson for the Arlington Chapter of the American Red Cross and remains a volunteer and trainer for the organization. She responded to the September 11th terrorist attacks at the Pentagon and in New York City. In both places she provided services and support to first responders, military personnel, survivors, and family and friends of those who perished. She provides training to peers and professionals on crisis intervention, stress management and self-care.
