The United States is spending millions of dollars to prepare for, as well as prevent, acts of terrorism. Looking historically at acts of terrorism will provide us with information regarding reactions and long-term consequences of exposure to a terrorist act. Terrorist incidents differ from other disasters. Knowledge regarding these differences is essential to advanced preparation and effective response. What are the risks for your community, organization, loved ones and self? Take an in depth look at these issues including conventional types of terrorism such as kidnapping, hijacking and bombings, as well as a detailed analysis of chemical, biological and nuclear/radiological threats, the weapons of mass destruction.
