The grant writing process, often overwhelming, can be equally rewarding, as one successfully investigates various funding opportunities to address critically needed training, equipment and personnel. Whether you are a beginner in the grant writing process or have years of experience in writing a fundable application, developing a management strategy will provide you with skills to investigate funding opportunities and to write an effective and winning grant application. This program will cover information from the basics of determining your needs through the submission process and planning strategies of the future. Participants will be able to utilize various strategies to secure funding in order to address disaster responses and operational needs.

This program is intended for first-time or veteran grant writers on CISM teams, as well as managers, leaders or planners in public safety, education, emergency services, chaplains, or anyone involved with an organizations that relies on grants for funding. Participants should bring an idea to the course in which funding could be used to address specific team needs.

Completion of the “Grantwriting: A Management Strategy” class and receipt of a certificate indicating full attendance (14Contact Hours) qualifies as a class in ICISF’s Certificate of Specialized Training Program.
